Kim Carmichael

There's always the one...

He's one person throughout life you think about every so often, the one who leaves his unique indelible mark on you, the person with whom you need closure.

For Margaret Collins that person was Mike Taylor. After he broke her heart seventeen years ago, she left everything she knew and reinvented herself. With a new home, a new look and a new name, Riley Williams is now an up and coming journalist given the assignment to interview a Mike Taylor. She never suspected he would be her Mike Taylor.

With Mike having no hint of Riley's true identity, she must decide if she will make him pay for sins he doesn't remember committing, or if she can wipe away the past and be with the one man who she has always wanted?

Can she finally have closure?

Reviews for Closure

From Amazon -- 5 Stars -- Michelle McQueen. "This is an amazing read. I was sucked in from the very first page! Riley is one of those characters you can't help but fall in love with. Sexy, confident and independent she has total control until it come to Mike. Then, she blossoms and embraces an inner diva to claim what she feels has always been hers. What woman doesn't want to be like her? This story has some very detailed steamy scenes which are awesome without being trashy. It is a beautifully told story. The characters are well developed and the plot flows well. Editing here is superb; no grammatical or spelling errors found.

Would I read this again? Most definitely. It's one of those quick reads that you go back to over and over. Would I recommend this title? A wholehearted yes, so long as the reader is over 18!!!!!!Happy Reading!!!!!!"

From Amazon -- Kim Reisdorf. "I thought this book was amazing. I read it in one sitting. The character in the story Riley/ Margaret was very easy to relate to. I think we all have that one person from way back when whom we maybe didn't nessesarily get closure from the relationship. I definitely recommend this book. You won't be disappointed."

From Amazon -- abbott123. "The story is about Margaret who after a bad experience her senior year changed her identity. She went from gothic chick to chic. She became Riley. When she was Margaret she was bullied and teased for being weird and and outsider. Now as she is Riley, she is on the in club in a new town and everything. Riley is a writer who is going to set in for her boss regarding an interview and is surprised to find out it is her crush in high school. She has grown since she was Margaret. She is independent, confident, and has her own style. During the meeting with Mike, he can't keep his mind off her and the connection her feels for her. He is the one that stood her up when she was Margaret. Can they both overcome the past to begin a future? I give this book 5 stars. Can't wait to read more from this author!"

An Interview with Kim Carmichael
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio

HH: Kim, thank you so much for talking with us at TRS Blue. Your featured book is Closure and features two characters with strong emotional ties, reunited by fate. Where did you get the idea for their emotionally-engaging story?

KC: I think we always have that one person who shapes us and our outlook on life. I was fascinated by being able to have a second chance with someone like that. What would happen if someone got the ultimate do-over and got to see that person without them knowing who she was. Would the spark and connection still be there.

HH: What do you like best about Margaret and why will readers empathize with her?

KC: I think that there is a little of Margaret in everyone. In our own ways we have all been on the outside looking in. She is strong but is soft and squishy inside. I also love that she got the chance to reinvent herself.

HH: What do you like best about Mike and why will readers love him?

KC: He is strong, but he has his own set of issues. He wants to be the protector and the one in charge but he also needs a woman who is strong. He knows what he wants.

HH: What did you enjoy most about writing this story and what do you think readers will take away from it?

KC: I loved the bit of cat and mouse game I played between them. I loved having Mike rediscover his love for the Margaret/Riley character. I also love that she is not afraid of her sexuality.

HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers?

KC: I am editing two anthologies for Hot Ink one is called Spring Fever, the other is called The Black Moment. My Book - Eternity - Will be released on 1/10 with Keith Publications, and one of my anthology stories - The Promise - is getting some scenes added and being released as a stand alone. I am also finishing my novel, Trifecta.

HH: How does 2013 promise to be different from 2012 for you?

KC: I am going to to stretch my limits and go after some more dreams. I am also going to work on managing my time, something I was not very successful at in 2012. I will learn how to say no and be honest.

HH: Where do you find inspiration for your stories?

KC: Mostly from my life. I work in Los Angeles. The city is full of life and stories. Also, the voices in my head are great entertainment.

HH: What's your writing schedule like?

KC: I have a very full time job, so I write at night after dinner and mostly the entire weekend.

HH: What's your favorite way to interact with readers?

KC: Anyway they want to reach me, I love it when I hear from people who have ready my stories. Email, facebook, whatever strikes their fancy.

HH: What are you most looking forward to in 2013?

KC: Seeing my novel published and working on my dream WIP.

HH: Thank you!
