Reviews for Stolen Rapture

"Denysé has a gift for capturing sensuality, for giving her characters depth and telling a rousing good story—and leaving the reader panting for more. (OK pun intended)

STOLEN RAPTURE is a novella so it's a great curl-by-the-fire read. And if you're like me, you'll read it and then turn right around and read it again. Go ahead... I won't tell." - 5 Fangs, Nya Reviews

About Denysé Bridger

Canadian born and bred, and a lifelong dreamer, I began writing at an early age and can't recall a time when I wasn't creating in some artistic form. My life has had several on-going love affairs that shape much of what I write, the American West, Victorian England, cowboys, a passion for pirates, Greek Gods, and Ancient Egypt. The other endless love affair in my life is Italia and all its magic, beauty, and dazzling culture. That passion spills into all aspects of my life. My first major fantasy novel is AS FATE DECREES. (Available in bookstores everywhere, and on Amazon's international sites.) The novel relies heavily on Greek Mythology, and is set in Ancient Greece and modern Athens. If you enjoy a tale of Gods, Destiny, and the battles of an Eternal Champion, this is the book for you! Not surprisingly, there's a touch of romance throughout, of course! A visit to my website will show the diversity of what is currently available, and the mixing of genres and styles that will be employed in many up-coming projects as well. The Italian influence is in evidence with several of the more important works, as many people already know.

An Interview with Denysé Bridger
By Holly Hewson for The Romance Studio

HH: Denysé, thank you for talking with us at TRS! Your featured book is Stolen Rapture. Where did the idea for this sizzling romance come from?

DB: I did this book because of a call that went out from one of my favourite publishers, and I really wanted to work with them again. I'd only done a ménage story once, and I've gotten something of a reputation as a paranormal author, so the idea of combining these two elements was irresistible, really. The biggest obstacle I faced in starting the piece was deciding just how to set it up. Vampire nightclub owners have been done to death, no pun intended, so I wanted something creatively interesting, but not lost in the dark of a club.

HH: What do you like best about Deluna and why will readers relate to her?

DB: I think readers will like Deluna because she's independent and adventurous, as well as very passionate. I like her because she has so much spirit, even when she knows she's overwhelmed by the two men who want her. She's caught in their game, but she still manages to hold her own, which is interesting to me.

HH: What do you like best about Cord and Rahve and why will readers love them?

DB: Both men are Alpha extreme, they're sexy, immortal, and their own ties are complex and compelling. Vampires who have been in each other's lives for a long time. Rahve is the older and more powerful, but Cord is a force in his own right, as well. He's a natural dominant, and he makes it clear he considers Deluna “his” woman. Rahve considers that possessiveness an irresistible challenge, of course.

HH: In a sea of sexy paranormal romances, why will your story stand out?

DB: I haven't encountered many vampire ménage stories, not where the vampires are the two men, and their shared interest is a human woman. So, there is that element as well as the dom/sub aspect that came into play–a first for me in my writing, and something that caught me by surprise when I wrote it. I think there's a huge potential for more with these characters, too. IF anyone is interested, of course, I'd like to revisit these people.

HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers?

DB: Wow, that's always a tricky one with me, but I'll see if I can get stuff straight. Within the next day or two Volume One of a new trilogy from XoXo Publishing™ called Lost To The Night will be released. Volumes two and three are coming next year, tentatively in March and May. I have a new fairytale story called Arabian Knight coming soon from New Dawning Book Fair, and the next part of Quinn and Bella's story. (That one began in my Ellora's Cave Quickie, Hide and Secret) Also, some special new fantasy romances and paranormals, one called Immortal Knight with a Warrior Angel hero, and another called Sea Witch. I also have a couple of new Historical Westerns coming soon. So, there's never a shortage of works in progress.

HH: What's a day in the life of Denysé Bridger like?

DB: Typical day... hmmm... Well, I'm usually up between 7 and 8 AM, take care of mail, then have breakfast. Once I've run whatever errands are necessary, I check in with my FB and newsgroups. After that, it's to the writing... and with so much in the works, I can always find something that I'm in the mood to work on. Often, days are long, I'm usually at the computer until about 10 PM, then I read, relax, and fall into bed about midnight. Not very glamorous, is it?

HH: What goals have you set for yourself at this point in your career?

DB: Well, I have one major goal and that's to sell a book to Harlequin before I retire. If I can do that, I will be the happiest author you've ever met! I'm working on something special now for their Nocturne line, so fingers crossed and all that!!

HH: What are you reading at the moment?

DB: I'm reading Shayla Black's Wicked Lovers series, as well as finishing up JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood books. I've also fallen in love with Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter series. I have a few other things sitting in the piles, too–and then there's my Kobo and what's waiting there... I need two lives just to get the reading and the writing done!

HH: Where is your favorite place to shop for books?

DB: The largest bookstore in Canada is Chapters-Indigo, and there's a lovely outlet just a couple of kilometers away, so I love going there, getting a Starbucks and having a lovely look around. I had my book launch party at this store when my first major release came out, and the staff still remembers, so it's like old home week every time I drop in. Really lovely.

HH: Any special plans for the holidays this year?

DB: Nothing really special, just the usual things. Will spend part of Christmas Eve with my sister, and we'll have a family dinner on Christmas Day. I really love to just relax and enjoy a couple of slow days. New Year's Eve is usually spent with Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler, and a nice bottle of Italian Wine. For me that's perfect. My mom and I watch the 1951 version of A Christmas Carol every Christmas Eve, and at midnight we open gifts. So, all in all, the theme of the Holidays for me is quiet, and I love it that way.

Many thanks for having me here with the wonderful supporters and readers at TRS. I hope you all have a magical and happy holiday, one that is Blessed with happiness and love.

HH: Thank you!
