Then he sees the one woman that got away splashed all over the cover of a tabloid, in the throes of a passionate threesome, and he decides Elisa must be his...in every way.
There's only one problem. Elisa is hiding...and she's traded up men for sex toys.
As the daughter of a famous soap actor, Elisa’s always been under the scrutiny of the public eye and she's always hated it. Embarrassed and ruined, she secludes herself in an isolated cabin in Aspen. She's determined never to show her face or trust a man again. Then Maxim shows up, just as determined to seduce her.

An Interview with Alyssa Brooks
By Holly Hewson, Marketing Director for The Romance Studio
HH: Alyssa, welcome back to TRS BLUE. Please tell us about your featured book, Hide and Seek.AB: I'd love to. Hide and Seek, my just-out December 2007 release, is the second in my "Game" series.
Maxim Cox, a rich playboy living in Egypt, has it all, including plenty of women. Elisa Cross is the daughter of a famous soap star whose life has been destroyed by her betraying ex-with a little help from the tabloids. The two main characters have an explosive history--lab partners in college, Maxim literally blew his chances with her when he blew up the lab during an experiment. When Maxim sees Elisa splashed all over the newsstands in the throes of passionate threesome, he decides it's high time they made up. Hurt and embarrassed Elisa is anything but prepared to let Maxim in her heart or body and when he shows up at her secluded cabin in Aspen, intent on seducing her, Elisa nearly lets him freeze his butt off rather than invite him inside. But let him in she does and what ensues between the two is more than a sex game-it's a battle of hearts. In the end, they both find more than they'd bargained for!
HH: Your heroine has everything except the hero. She catches his eye in the tabloids, the center of a big sexual scandal. Where did you get the idea for this sizzling story? AB: When Maxim orchestrated a foursome for Sadie and Dylan in Come and Get Me, I knew there was more to him than met the eye and thought he definitely deserved a story-as well as a woman who could match him. Someone stubborn and non-too-innocent, who like Maxim, really only wanted to be loved.
The tabloids tend to catch my eyeJ so I knew they'd catch Maxim's. I'm never a buyer, but can't resist gobbling up the headlines in the supermarket aisle while I check out. Who doesn't? And so Elisa was born..a woman who like Maxim, enjoyed sex, but who had been hurt plenty enough to scare her away from relationships.
HH: What do you like best about Maxim Cross? AB: While he tries to hide it, underneath his playboy surface, Maxim's really a sweet sensitive guy scared of love and commitment. His feelings for Elisa are so true and he's the typical guy, not about to admit it!
HH: What did you enjoy most about writing this story? AB: The game in Hide and Seek was a lot of fun. Elisa challenges Maxim-if he wants to have sex with her, he'll have to "earn" her by chopping wood and chasing after her through the snowy mountainside.all sorts of different scenarios. Maxim is used to having women at the snap of his fingers and this is Elisa's way of keeping him around, and more importantly, interested, which led to lots of sexy, playful chances for me to up the tension and make my characters grow.
HH: What, if any, challenges did you face? AB: Making the characters likable and believable. It's always harder taking a hero or heroine with a hard outer shell and showing their soft side in a convincing way, but I think I pulled it off. =)
HH: What are you working on now? AB: New proposals, rewriting some older works.I have a lot going on, but I'm in a limbo as far as contracts are concerned, waiting to see what happens next. Readers should stayed tuned.I should have news to celebrate soon!
HH: What else do you have in store for readers in 2008? AB: Hard to Get, my third and final in the "Game" series, will be released in July 2008.
In Hard To Get, Lizzy's heart and body is totally off limits. Who needs boys when you've got toys? Then an old flame shows up in her life-in the form of a cowboy stripper at her sister's bachelorette party. Healing the past won't be easy, but Ty has no intention of breaking her heart a second time.
I've just posted my hot new cover for this story on my website for those who want to pop over and take a peek--www.alyssabrooks.com.
HH: How has your career changed in the last year? AB: In 2007, I had three print releases, including my first two single titles for Heat. I also sold and completed a third book for Berkley. On top of those great achievements, I signed with Ellora's Cave and had several stories published through them. Things are looking up, but most importantly, I feel my writing has matured incredibly. I'm able to get deeper into my characters point-of-view and to write more fluently, which to me is the best accomplishment of all!
HH: What are your goals for this year? AB: To keep the releases coming. :) I've proposed some really great stories to my publishers that I'm hoping to hear back on soon, so with any luck, I'll be writing those as well as rewriting some of my older titles.
HH: What would you most like for readers to know about you? AB: That I write for them-essentially readers are my bosses. So if a fan ever has any comments or suggestions, I'd love to hear them and they shouldn't hesitate to email me. I can be contacted at brooksalyssa@msn.com.
Of course, the occasional "ILOVEYOURBOOKS" email is good for the muse too. =)
Thanks for having me, Holly!
HH: Thank you!
