Rand slid a hand into her riot of wine colored curls, massaging her scalp gently. Leena was everything Wynn had said she was and more. Bright, inquisitive, daring, a loving and giving heart-it was no wonder the other man was so wrapped up in this woman. Rand was finding himself quite attracted to her as well.
"I think ultimately that we can make a great deal of this all right." He ghosted a light kiss on her forehead. "I feel like I know you, too, Leena. Every wonderful thing that Wynn has told me about you is true." He held her gently for long seconds considering all sides of what they'd so far discussed. Finally, he felt ready to broach the subject once again. "Leena, before I begin, or anything at all takes place, I think we need to talk to Wynn as best we can. Has he been conscious since he came in here?" She pulled back, stepping away from him. "Yes, he's been conscious most of the time. They don't want to give him sleep aids or anything else because they can't identify the poison in his system." She looked up at him, her dark eyes shadowed. "He's in pain, but he's lucid. We can talk to him. He's been...he's been waiting for you." "I don't want to bully him but depending on what he says, we'll be taking over his life. Are you ready to do that?" "He's my family now, Rand. Ellen and Ely are gone and I love him. I'll do anything. Consider him hijacked, just as soon as those medical types leave the room," Leena insisted resolutely. As if on cue, the door to Wynn's room opened and a nurse, doctor, and phlebotomist exited, the latter rolling her cluttered wire cart and closing the door behind them. The nurse turned to talk to Rand and he nodded, concentrating on the suggestion that nothing was out of order and everyone should ignore the room and the patient in it until further notice. Rand extended his hand and Leena placed her much smaller, softer hand in his. The implied trust in the gesture nearly took his breath away. All that she valued had been lost or was in danger. She was trusting him with everything she had left. Wynn's eyes opened halfway when Rand entered the room, Leena in tow. "All right mate?" Rand asked around the lump in his throat. "Smashing," Wynn responded with a twitch of his lip that could pass for a smile. Rand moved up beside Wynn's shoulder letting Leena move around to his other side. He rested a wide palm on Wynn's brow brushing the hair back from his face. "You're practically humming with power, Rand. How?" Wynn croaked. "Madoc-I told him what happened," Rand explained. "I thought it would be best to heal you just enough to get you out of here without questions. We can finish this after you've been released." Wynn directed an uncomfortable look to Leena and then back to Rand. "What about..." "Wynn, Rand explained about the magic," Leena spoke up, surprising Rand. "He said you care deeply for me. You love me, right?" "Yes," Wynn answered, looking first at her and then over at Rand and then away. "I think you love him, too, don't you?" Leena went on. Well this little ray of sunshine doesn't beat about the bush, does she? Wynn glanced at Rand again and then down. "Yes," he admitted. Leena offered a wobbly smile. "I love you, too, Wynn," she said softly, cupping his cheek. "This isn't how I'd always daydreamed we'd tell each other. But...Rand?" Rand leaned down and brushed his lips over Wynn's. "I love you, Wynn. Have done since the minute you walked out of the museum and left me with a very fine bottle of Scotch...possibly before." Wynn's eyes filled with tears as he looked from one to the other. "I don't know what to say," he rasped. "Don't say anything," Leena slid up on the bed beside his hip taking his hand. "Let Rand do his hocus pocus and then we'll try to get you out of here. How's that?" Don't mind if I do... Rand leaned over him, finding acquiescence in his eyes. Without another word, he laced his fingers with Wynn's, carefully avoiding the IV lines. Leaning down, he touched foreheads, cupping the back of Wynn's head with his free hand. Dimly aware of Leena sitting on the bed beside Wynn and holding his other hand, Rand tilted his chin forward covering the other man's mouth with his own. A nip at his lower lip and Wynn opened, giving Rand full access to taste and explore. A hazy current seemed to blanket the three, drawing heat, urgency, electricity to the surface. At first, Leena seemed nervous, unsure. As the crackling energy wound around them, Rand began to feel the three way connection build. Leena's small hand found its way to Rand's shoulder, rubbing him gently as she held onto Wynn. Wynn was kissing him back hungrily, need in every panting breath. Rand's hand slid down the thin hospital gown covering Wynn's chest, meeting Leena as together they pushed the sheet to his knees. Though her movements were slightly unsure, the young woman was committed, actively a part of their shaky triad.
